Kogi state University lecturers suspend 5-month old strike

The Joint Action Committee, JAC, of tertiary institutions has just called off the five months strike by lecturers of tertiary institutions in Kogi State after signing Memorandum of Understanding with the state government on Wednesday June 21, 2017.

Access Bank, others take over Etisalat Nigeria over $1.72 billion (about N541.8 billion) debt

A group of Nigerian and foreign banks led by Access Bank PLC have taken over the management of Etisalat Nigeria following a collapse of efforts to reach an agreement with the banks on debt restructuring plan in the protracted $1,72 billion debt impasse.

Man allegedly caught stealing from a church receives prayers from the members of the church

According to reports on Facebook posted by Innocent Tino, the man covered in the above photo is a thief. He had gone to rob a Baptist Church in Warri, Delta State but got caught. Rather than report him to the police or lynch him as is becoming the common practice, the congregants lay hands on him and prayed for him. Another photo after the cut.

Man jailed for sharing photo of dead London fire victim on Facebook

A 43 year old man named Omega Mwaikambo who posted pictures on Facebook of the body of someone believed to have leapt to his death from the Grenfell Tower fire in London has been jailed for three months.  

Apapa road to be closed for one-year as FG begins reconstruction

A section of the Apapa Wharf road will be shut down for a year to allow engineers carry out reconstruction of the road that has been in a deplorable state for many years.
Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, disclosed this at the signing of a N4.34 Billion Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dangote Group and other stakeholders for the reconstruction of the road in Lagos today June 17th.

A bridge at Tatabu village along Mokwa - Jebba road, collapsed due to heavy rain fall Monday, thereby halting vehicular movement from both sides. Officers and Men of the Federal Road Safety Corps led by the Unit Commander ACC Danladi Samari were on the scene to inspect the collapse bridge. HIV-positive man bags life imprisonment for defiling 11-year-old girl in Kenya

A 43-year-old Kenyan HIV-positive man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for defiling an 11-year-old girl after a year-long trial.

If you go through the embattled singer's IG page, the last 12 photos he posted shows him living the life...that he apparently can't afford. There are so many private jet photos and before he was arrested for identity and credit card fraud, (which he allegedly used to pay for the private jets) you can see some of his followers hailing him and envying the fake luxury lifestyle he was projecting, with no one asking how he can afford it.

Pregnant woman beaten to death in Adamawa on suspicion of being a witch

First of all, how do you even have the heart to beat a pregnant woman to the point of death? That’s exactly what happened in the village of Falu in Guyuk LGA.
The 32-year-old woman was beaten with sticks until she died, all because they suspected her of being responsible of some sinister occurrences in the town.

15 children die following botched vaccination

At least 15 children have died from a botched attempt to immunise them against measles in rural South Sudan.
 32 other children suffered symptoms of fever, vomiting and diarrhoea but eventually recovered. 
South Sudan's health ministry on Friday blamed the deaths on human error.

A 20-year-old Ghanaian Girl, Priscilla Berfi has rendered her boyfriend homeless after she set his house on fire for allegedly cheating on her.
The house, located at Debuako in the Oforikrom Constituency of the Ashanti Region was set on fire, but no casualties was recorded. The fire destroyed mostly properties.
